{"id":132,"date":"2024-12-11T19:50:41","date_gmt":"2024-12-11T19:50:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.iasdconferences.org\/2025\/?page_id=132"},"modified":"2025-02-20T14:08:01","modified_gmt":"2025-02-20T14:08:01","slug":"call-for-art","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.iasdconferences.org\/2025\/call-for-art\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Art"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong><em>CALL FOR ART \u2013 Prospectus<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"960\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 960 \/ 960;\" width=\"960\" controls src=\"https:\/\/www.iasdconferences.org\/2025\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/2025-call-for-artwork-vid-w-music.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>2025 Juried Dream Art Exhibition<\/strong><br><strong>Held in conjunction with the 2025 virtual conference of the International Association for the Study of Dreams<\/strong><em><br><\/em><strong>21-25 June 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES:&nbsp; 11:59 pm GMT, Tuesday, 15 April 2025&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong> We are accepting original artwork about or inspired by dreams.* You do not need to be a member of IASD or a conference attendee to participate in the IASD Juried Dream Art Exhibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>*The jurors will be open-minded about the relationship of the artwork to dream content when selecting the art pieces, so long as the work was inspired by a dream or dreams during sleep (including lucid dreams) or by shamanic dreaming. Note: an entrant can create a piece inspired by someone else\u2019s dream. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Media: <\/strong>All two-dimensional and multi-dimensional media will be considered, including painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, and video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are not able to accept performance art or entries that are strictly sound-oriented (e.g., music). However, performance artists and sound artists may consider submitting a proposal for a special event for the conference program. Note that the deadline for these submissions is <strong>31<\/strong> <strong>December 2024 <\/strong>at this link: https:\/\/iasdconferences.org\/2025\/call-for-presentations\/<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Criteria considered by the jury in reviewing entries for the exhibition will include:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Professional quality.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relation to dreams or dreaming. See the Eligibility definition earlier.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completeness and quality of supporting documents. Incomplete documentation or vague, unclear statements may disqualify an entry.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quality of digital files; out of focus or poorly composed images will be rejected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All work accepted for the show will be added to the IASD online dream art galleries, unless you specifically request that we not do so.&nbsp; This online gallery will be promoted during the conference and become a part of archives for the IASD Dream Art Exhibitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One artist will be selected by the jury to be featured in an article in the fall edition of the internationally acclaimed magazine <em>Dreamtime<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Entry requirements and general information<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each artist may submit up to five (5) art pieces. The entry form also allows you to upload two (2) additional detail images, total, to show detail.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>General information requested on entry form:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Contact information<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A biographical sketch<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An artist statement \u2013 describe how your work is dream-related.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feedback on how you heard about this exhibit.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Information for each artwork submitted:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Art submission information:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Size of work (height x width in inches)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Medium or media (if mixed) used for each piece&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Price in US dollars, if for sale<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Specifications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Image requirements:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Files should be in JPG format only.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Images should display in the proper orientation, with resolution set at 72 dpi and sized to open no larger than 8\u201d x 10\u201d (regardless of orientation).&nbsp; Minimum file size is 1 megabyte per image and maximum file size is&nbsp; 3 megabytes per image.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Image file names should include the artist&#8217;s name and an image number (e.g., Smith1, Smith1detail, Smith2).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Video entry requirements:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Include an image from each video in JPG format, conforming to the image requirements above.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide the link to where the entire video can be viewed by the judges and conference attendees (e.g., on YouTube).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HOW TO ENTER<\/strong><strong>: All works must be submitted using the Online Entry Form.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u270d <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iasdconferences.org\/2025\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/2025-Juried-Dream-Art-Exhibition-Entry-Form-SAMPLE.docx\">Click HERE<\/a> to view or download a<strong> SAMPLE COPY <\/strong>of the Online Entry Form in Microsoft Word format. You must pay this fee if:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>you are NOT registering and paying for the main conference; or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>you are a full scholarship awardee and have registered as such.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For others submitting art<\/strong>, the submission fee is <strong>waived<\/strong> if you are registering and paying for either a single day or the whole conference. In addition, you can register using the presenter discount on the Presenter Registration Form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conference registration is not required for the art submission, but if you wish to register for the conference, please go to the conference main page, <a href=\"https:\/\/iasdconferences.org\/2024\/\">https:\/\/iasdconferences.org\/2025<\/a>, and click on the Registration link.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Membership in IASD is not required but does allow you to register for the conference at a discounted rate. For membership information, check the IASD web site (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.asdreams.org\">www.asdreams.org<\/a>).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ART SALES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you would like your work to be eligible for sale, please include contact information to be posted with art in our online galleries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Art sales are between the artist and the customer.&nbsp; IASD appreciates a donation from sales (suggested donation 20% of sale price)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Questions?
